TTSS Document Application

During testing of a High Power Microwave (HPM) weapon against a tactical test target, certain subsystems installed in or on a target for testing purposes must be protected from damage due to HPM irradiation to ensure range safety and test data integrity. The DETEC HPM Test Target Subsystems Surety (TTSS) capability produced a document entitled “A Guideline for TTSS Methodology” which incorporates a number of steps (activities and decision points), that when applied against a specific tactical target in a specific HPM weapon-test scenario, identifies a tailored protection solution for that combination. The process utilizes a number of Tools and Methods (both analytical and experimental) to complete these steps. The process then develops a protection solution using a combination of procedural and material techniques. This guideline was applied to two test targets and appended to the document in classified case study annexes.

The unclassified main body of the document can be downloaded or sent to the specified address on CD. The classified case studies are optional and only distributed on CD. To register to receive the TTSS guideline, please complete the following form.
